Big Pines Recreation Site (#1115)
At 20 acres, Big Pines is BLM's largest recreation site in the Yakima River Canyon. The northern edge of the recreation site is adjacent to undeveloped hiking trails on lands managed by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Many clearings that provide good visuals. The Northwest section of LT Murray Wildlife area and Manastash ridge usually has early season elk and deer. As it gets colder and snows, the elk and deer tend to migrate down into the south eastern section of the wildlife area.  Whiskey Canyon on the lower portion is steep but will present opportunities for elk and deer as well.

Ellensburg KOA (#989)

Set on the Yakima River, this KOA is a great base camp for fishing or rafting. You're well-situated for touring the Clymer Museum of Art, searching for the Ellensburg blue agate, enjoying a concert at the Gorge Amphitheatre, hiking the Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail, stargazing on Table Mountain or visiting Roslyn, where Northern Exposure was filmed. Central Washington University's campus is also located in town. Visit during Jazz in the Valley the last weekend in July and the Ellensburg Rodeo on Labor Day weekend. This KOA features wooded sites, some right on the river. Check into the cozy Deluxe Cabins (air-conditioned) or settle into a prime spot and relax. Wireless Internet is conveniently located throughout the park.

Looking for a central meeting place? Ellensburg is the geographic center of Washington, at the junction of Hwy 97 and Interstates 90 and 82. It's convenient for everyone, year-round. Quiet and serene, the Kittitas Valley Event Center is within easy walking distance of Central Washington University and downtown Ellensburg, and is within short driving distance of over 700 motel rooms and 35 restaurants. Nestled in an amphitheater-like setting, the Kittitas Valley Event Center offers a unique venue that can accommodate everything from a small private meeting to a large wedding, a public exhibition, or an equestrian or livestock event.

With over 20 rentable rooms and spaces on property, there is always something that will fit your needs. Room occupancy varies from 20 people banquet style to over 400. The Center offers an indoor arena, barns, stock pens, 100 RV hookups, and plenty of free parking. Call ahead or register online to save your spot!

Lmuma Creek Recreation Site (#1114)

This canyon has been designated as a state scenic route and offers excellent wildlife viewing, fishing in a Blue Ribbon trout stream, family river rafting and camping. Lmuma Creek is the smallest river access site the BLM manages in the Yakima River Canyon.

This is a primitive campground with few amenities. Some of the things you can do here at Bonanza Campground are hiking, whitewater paddling, fishing, and swimming. It also has a great spot for whitewater paddling.

Northwest of Ellensburg along the middle fork of the Teanaway River. Approximately 12 miles northwest of state Route 970. 10 campsites available. A discover Pass is required to camp in this location.

Park Campground (#874)

This is a primitive campground with few amenities. Park Campground lakes are nice; Snow Lake is a lake that's near Park Campground. Old Blewett Pass is near Park Campground and is unquestionably a tremendous place to stop by.

Roza Recreation Site (#1116)
Roza is the main take-out for all river floaters, as it is located ½ mile above Roza Dam. Motorized vessels are permitted from the Roza boat launch down to Roza dam. Upstream of the Roza boat launch the river is limited to non-motorized boats only. There is a concrete boat launch at the site to accommodate motorized boat users.

This campground located near the Little Naches River and is popular with motorcycle enthusiats. Maximum trailer length 30 feet. No reservations.

Icewater Creek (#1121)
20+ miles northwest of Ellensburg on Forest Service Road 3300. 14 campsites.
Located on Taneum Creek, this campground offers 15 campsites. The campground accesses  North Fork Taneum Trail # 1377 and has a beginners motorcycle loop trail that originates in the campground.

Rider's Camp (#1120)
25 miles west of Ellensburg on Forest Service Road 3100. This campground not accessible until mid-June although it does not technically close in the winter. It has seasonal stock water from the creek and an improved dispresed camp area for groups. Bathroom, Group Camp Site, No Potable Water. ATVing, Hiking, Horseback Riding, Jeep/4-Wheeling, Motorcycling.

Fee: $5.00 per day / $30.00 yearly pass

This is a primitive campground with few amenities. Scotty Creek Campground is located in a vicinity with loads of exciting things to do! Near Scotty Creek Campground you come across the Red Hill Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail. Also, paddling on Icicle Creek is so much fun.
