Fall fishing in Central Washington is proving to be bountiful. Anglers are reporting excellent fishing conditions on Kittitas County's waterways -- So get on the water and catch the countless colors of fish in Central Washington.

The streams, rivers, and lakes in Kittitas County are swirling with the colors of Rainbow, Brown, and Golden trout as well as Yellow perch, Bluegill, Salmon, and Steelhead.

  • Copper Lake - This high lake above Salmon-La-Sac is a consistent producer of brook trout and rainbows 7 to 10 inches. Small kokanee are also taken.
  • Lavender Lake - Good fishing for rainbow and brown trout. Open year-around and very accessible.
  • Yakima River - Discover this awesome fishery that is widely considered the best trout fishing stream in Washington.
  • Cle Elum River - Located just 3 miles from Cle Elum. This mountain stream contains a variety of fish including yellow perch, Coho Salmon, and trout. It is a popular recreational area.
  • Cle Elum Lake - Anglers can find rainbow, cutthroat, kokanee, Dolly Varden, eastern brook, whitefish, and even mackinaws to 20 pounds.
  • Columbia River and Vantage Boat Launch - The boat launch is extremely accessible (just feet from I-90) and offers a new deeper and wider boating channel, extended launch and new boarding float and improved amenities, including picnic area and restrooms. You can access nearby salmon and steelhead fisheries from this convenient boat launch.
