Thorp Community Days

The Thorp Community Day was started in 2011 by two Thorp residents who believed a community festival to promote the community of Thorp and to gather the community together would be beneficial to the growth of community pride, spirit, and togetherness.

Over the past year's the Thorp Community Day has transformed into a major community event attracting not only community members, but visitors from near and far.

Manastash Metric Bike Ride

The 21st Annual Manastash Metric Century/ Half Century Bicycle Tour

Travel the scenic west side of the valley to Cle Elum and return along the winding Yakima River, or turn off half-way for the alternate 50 kilometer ride. Snacks and sag wagon are provided.

Bikes & Brews Coal Mine Bike Ride

A new aspect to this year's Mountain Ale Festival is a Bike Ride on the historic Coal Mines Trail. The bike ride starts in Roslyn and will take riders on a scenic tour to Ronald. Once in Ronald riders will take the trail back to Roslyn. Take the ride in the morning and enjoy some of the northwest's best brews in the afternoon at the Roslyn Yard.

Merchants in Downtown Ellensburg are ready to welcome hundreds of costumed kids with bowls full of candy and treats.

Daily Record photographer Brian Myrick will be taking photos of trick or treaters for the newspaper from 3:30 to 5 p.m. (401 N. Main St). The Daily Record photo studio will be open for photos the entire time, and people can email photos to newsroom@kvnews.com.

Parade participants assemble starting 10 a.m. Nov. 11 in front of Ellensburg Police Department station at 102 N. Pearl St.; parade begins at 11 a.m.

Any veterans who want to participate are encouraged to show up before the parade and line up toward the front of the line.
